Seeing It Through: Reflections on "We Are Dust"

A few years ago, I joined a project that felt equal parts ambition and uncertainty, a tribute album to Of the Wand & the Moon, spearheaded by Moondrop Records in Denmark. I contributed music and helped guide the production and promotion of the album from start to finish. This was the perfect example of a project I'd pursue with Raido Consultancy, as it married my passions with my professional expertise. Though, it was never just about the songs; it was about crafting something meaningful with artists who genuinely cared.
The process was anything but smooth. What was supposed to be a relatively straightforward digital release turned into a slow-burning saga. The label faced delays, setbacks, and the kind of behind-the-scenes chaos that never makes it into liner notes. Still, no one quit. We adjusted, rebuilt, and kept moving forward. That kind of dedication—sometimes quiet, sometimes exhausting—is what carried the project to completion.
When We Are Dust: A Tribute to Of the Wand & the Moon finally hit streaming platforms, it felt like a hard-earned exhale. The reception was humbling as passionate fans and bands alike embraced it. But the moment that hit deepest came later, when the album saw a physical vinyl release this year.
It’s difficult to explain to someone outside the music world what it means to hold your work in your hands...something pressed, packaged, and permanent. There’s a kind of quiet awe in placing the needle on your own record. The crackle before the first note is a sound that reminds you why you keep going, even when the path is unclear.
For those of us who make music in niche corners of the world, projects like this are more than just creative milestones. They're proof that with enough care and commitment, something once imagined can become real and tangible, even timeless.
We Are Dust is more than a tribute album. It's a symbol of persistence, shared vision, and the power of following through.
